that's good

NEW AD: Have you seen these anti-Talarico attack ads? Elon Musk paid for nearly all of them. The world's first trillionaire knows if he drags the most corrupt politician in Texas across the finish line, Ken Paxton will owe him everything. Elon Musk: Texas is not for sale.

running explicitly against repetitive ads feels like an untapped vein. I was getting my car serviced the other day and listening to broadcast TV for the first time in months, and it had the same 3 ads on over and over and over, it was annoying as hell

"we gotta do campaign finance reform to get these fuckin politician assholes off my TV" would appeal to a lot of people I suspect

Specifically that republican guy who was like goddamnit my kids keep seeing all these anti trans ads and now I have to explain it to them! (I am in no way saying I feel bad for this guy)

I live in California and have seen the same anti-proposition 40 (Billionaire Tax) ad run 3 times a row during multiple commercial breaks during the same program

Same thought process listening to NPR on the road. Musk is spending 450m, Bloomberg 80m. Seems like a way to rally folks against Cit Unitd, “you won’t have to hear political crap during baseball games, only Sid Sweeney’s boobs”

who knows if it'll help, but i'm reflexively in favor of linking Paxton to the loathsome homunculus white nationalist trillionaire who's been the shadow president, is throwing a billion into Skydance, and is twiddling the knobs to cripple Ukraine's defense against Russia

i would love to see data on this but i think we have basically passed the event horizon where political ads can influence too many people. i think at this point people are fully aware of how easy it is to lie in them and they just become white noise at a certain point but idk
