did you know you can make your own website. yes, even you, person who thinks it requires super coding skills you think you'll never have. it doesn't, you can do it too. yes even if you've never written a line of code before. no, not using one of those site building services you keep getting ads for

I will say, I thought of it somewhat like that for a while, but after I made a little neocities, I noticed that even with just the basics and a simple beginner tutorial, what I ended up with was quite dang satisfying to see

I know how to program but not in shit like html, so I ended up using a static site generator to turn a pre-done template into my blog with a bit of tweaking on my part. The most digging I had to do to change anything was to swap the font out for a different one. Everything else was easy to tweak.

Every post gets written naturally and gets tossed together for me with a few keystrokes, and then all I have to do is take the output and make it some poor site hoster's problem. the initial learning curve is a bit higher but i like it because i don't have to dig deep unless i want to.

I know you said no site builders but the one I genuinely like is webflow. They have tons of community made templates you can copy, its no-code first but you can edit your code if you like, and its genuinely free to try with no time limit. The only paid limit is custom domain and CMS items

you are capable of writing your own html. you can start by making it be like a linktree/caard/whatever, if you don't know what to put on it. ignore css and learn html first. css is only needed if you wanna get fancy. make your space first (it's really easy), you can choose to paint it later.

it's really cool and fun to have your own website. you can put whatever you want on it and it can look however you want. the only person that can ruin your website is yourself. websites are the real internet. (did you know?) you can have a home on the true internet. the internet was made for people

I've been chipping away at a revamp of my site for a while now, and granted, I'm taking forever because I want to program some custom bells and whistles. But the basics really aren't that daunting! I always wanna encourage this since it's just satisfying to make their personal, cozy corner
