BEST DEV UPDATE IN A LONG TIME as an old salt i cant wait to go back to the good old days with no diving And adding a guarenteed Cof to 3 world events that i would usually avoid to give me a reson to do them now is perfect chefs kiss Also the cof staying as a random chance in any event is beutiful 🍻

And you going back to just focus on making an update well and take your time to make something your proud of is phenominal i have been wanting you to take it easy and not be restricted by a seasonal time limit to getting content out for a long while very happy for you all that you choose this path

One last praise Im very happy you are not stufing more new stuff in the sandbox and are going back to give old content the much needed attention and care it needs to not make it feel outdated and irrelevant that was one of my big issues with the game direction Very happy that you are focusing on it

Just watched it and in general a great dev video! wonder how much the new experiment will go! do wonder that if it stays if there should be something like 1 dive per session or something? Then again I rarely dive so wonder how it will affect players that don't dive

I'll miss Reaper 5 diving, though its necessity was a symptom of the larger problem and often led to sailing across the entire map to reach the one or two emissaries on the server anyway. Excited to see if servers will feel more alive during this experiment! Great changes 🔥

Diving reaper 5s definitely pushed me away from the game - I was so sick of doing like 2-3 hours just to lose everything to the scummiest, most toxic of crews that were reaper 5 who had dove. If it was every now and then? Sure 100% but every session for a year..

Diving kept me on the seas longer because if I didn't like the server I was on, I would just hop with a dive. If I don't like a server I'm on without diving, I'm more likely to just log off rather than deal with it.

This is an extremely fair point. There’s a real balancing act between [convenience + desirable gameplay] and [harder but perhaps more memorable stories]. I see both sides. That’s why I’m glad it’s an experiment. I’m interested to see where it leads, I can’t quite predict it.

love having less choices for things to do in this game when we're already starving for anything to do, this is going to make leveling any faction flag an absolute dogshit experience, since diving ensured relevant treasure at the destination. only tolerable faction in the coming season will be HC

@seaofthieves.com I feel like the removal of diving should have been a limited-time event experiment. Maybe 1 week during the season in the same flavor of 'Gold and Glory' or 'Community' events. I worry that you're listening too much to the loud minority about diving and engagement "problems".

I also agree with many of the other comments. If you're removing this 'Quality of Life' update that has been in the game for years and not providing a replacement or alternative, I don't see how this can be considered an update rather than regression. @seaofthieves.com

@seaofthieves.com What's next, removing the ability to sell at the Sovereign's and return to running loot to each trading company b/c a streamer whined about that too? That might be a fun weekend event if paired with increased rewards, but not a full-time change. Use dynamic schedules!

No new content and removing diving. Where’s new Tall Tales? Where’s new voyages? Nothing that’s been revealed since all this custom seas stuff has given my crew a reason to come back. Removing diving is just going to make the experience worse.

The game does not desperately need new voyages and tall tales They need to go back and fix the stuff thats alredy in the game because new stuff is just more thrown on the pile of features that gets forgotten in a few years Also removing diving is good You would know that if you played back then

They are finally admitting that quality updates need more time than they've been giving themselves. If getting those means waiting another season where they'll also be fixing long standing issues, I'm fine with that. I do not want new Tall Tales as bad as the old Adventures.

Personally, my experience with this game was much better before diving and voyage revamp. Interactions with other crews, whether friendly, neutral, or aggressive, is what makes this game. As is, those interactions are rarer and far more likely to be negative.
