I see your point, but also, it highlights the main problem: we already have a very cheap and easy solution to "light at night" which is "electric lighting" and what is the use case for doing this from orbit, at a laughably huge expense?

this won't work in any basic way. the moon is already reflecting the sun's light and it is not bright enough to see anything like a viable amount of light energy from. it's unworkable, start to finish.

How do they think this will have no environmental impact when they would be literally reflecting sunlight to the night side of the planet? And they're not even shy about the fact that it's mostly to keep labourers working 24/7 so rich people can profit even more from them.

The irony of social media is that evil pricks can come up with this shit, but if I say what should happen to these evil pricks, I get banned from social media.

...so they demonstrated that their idea is incredibly stupid by showing that we already have a way to do this that doesn't involve putting more satellites into orbit or increasing the amount of sunlight the already warming Earth receives

We know it gets cold and overcast in San Francisco, San Francisco. Please know that for less than a sliver of this cost - really no cost, given the cost of living in San Francisco - you can just move to somewhere sunny.
