And while I have zero – negative, in fact – sympathy for all things MAGA, I fear that the techno-oligarchic capture of the American state will be strengthened rather than weakened with Congress under Democratic control. 3/4

The mechanisms of capture will simply become less visible and somewhat softer, friendlier, dressed in a more enlightened legitimisation – but exactly because of such a posture things will get worse in the end. 4/4

A return of the Democrats will revive the same old broken system, that got us in this situation. The Trump administration will continue to ignore the law. I could be wrong (not a US person), but I do not expect a major change in trajectory.
