It is widely held in progressive circles in the US, and across parts of the West more broadly, that the midterm elections will bring some relief to embattled American liberals by reviving Democratic dominance in Congress. 1/4

A return of the Democrats will revive the same old broken system, that got us in this situation. The Trump administration will continue to ignore the law. I could be wrong (not a US person), but I do not expect a major change in trajectory.
