European sovereignty at its “best”: Finland's government concludes a deal with Google to build a massive data centre in the north of the country. Google arrives and, without completing the required environmental assessment, fells 250,000 trees across 330 hectares. 1/2 📸 Alessandro Rampazzo

When you say that Elon Musk, who – by tampering with the Ukrainian use of Starlink’s military-grade version – now has Ukrainian blood on his hands (obviously), don’t forget that he also orchestrated the first techno-oligarchic “holocaust” in history: buff.ly/H98r8ln

Well, we in Europe may hate the techno-oligarchic capture of the US as much as we want, but unless Brussels and national capitals do their “European sovereignty” job, our attitude is nothing more than helpless hate discharge – something that the techno-oligarchy itself is happy to organise.

As Marine Le Pen once again declares that - should she become French president - she will oppose Ukraine's EU membership, can someone explain to her that she will have to choose between Ukrainians entering the EU as fellow citizens and Ukrainians entering the EU aboard Russian tanks?

BBC inviting Sergey Markov for commentary is pretty crazy for so many reasons, the main being the fact that Markov is so insignificant in the Russian regime hierarchy that he cannot possibly know anything about Russian interference in the UK electoral processes.

Yesterday, Ukraine's "partners" issued no warnings about the Russian ballistic missiles targeting civilian infrastructure in Kyiv, twice during the day. 1/2

It looks like the Trump regime has really instructed the US agencies to stop sharing intelligence with Kyiv, despite the fact that Ukraine stopped targeting Russian refineries. 1/3

Early today, Ukrainian sources reported that the functionality of Starshield – the military-grade version of Starlink – had been restricted, raising suspicions that Elon Musk's SpaceX was following the Trump regime in trying to force Ukraine to submit to Russia's genocidal assault. 2/2

Der deutlichste Unterschied zwischen Faschismus und Techno-Oligarchie: Faschismus: Manche Menschen sind das Problem. Techno-Oligarchie: Das Menschliche am Menschen ist das Problem.

Russia has fired five (or six?) ballistic missiles at civilian infrastructure in Kyiv today, and the air alert sounded very late – during the attack itself, rather than before it. 2/3

Explaining the situation, Zelensky said that there had been no warning from Ukraine’s “partners”. Your guess as to those “partners” is as good as mine. Mine is above. 3/3

If presidential elections are held in Ukraine soon, Volodymyr Zelensky will not have to run a campaign – his team will just need to circulate statements against him by Trump, Musk and the Kremlin.

Mind you, if Ukraine keeps bombing Russian data centres and thus disrupts Russian digital campaigns aiming to boost MAGA in the run-up to the midterms, Trump will soon say that Ukraine is interfering in the US politics. Because how else to describe the disruption of Russian pro-Trump info ops?

Trump’s decision to strike a deal with Putin and buy Russian diesel – weakening sanctions and bankrolling the Russian war machine – is truly Lindsey Graham’s “sanctions from hell”. No confusion or contradiction here – Graham was a turncoat who betrayed US Republicanism by jumping on the MAGA wagon.

The number of foreign powers August Hanning, former head of Germany's Federal Intelligence Service, apparently supplied stolen data to keeps multiplying: Israel, Azerbaijan, China… So now Hanning looks like he was an intelligence grocery. Hanning. Like Rewe, Aldi or Lidl, but for intelligence.

Today I have my answer: Canada, Lithuania and the EU’s diplomatic service withdrew their official sponsorship of #Disinfo2026, Europe’s leading counter-disinformation conference held in Vilnius, after the US State Department pressured multiple governments over their support for the event. 2/3

Washington objected because the conference programme – for the first time – included a panel framing the US itself as a source of foreign information manipulation and interference, which US officials regarded as unacceptable. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026... 3/3

It is widely held in progressive circles in the US, and across parts of the West more broadly, that the midterm elections will bring some relief to embattled American liberals by reviving Democratic dominance in Congress. 1/4

And while I have zero – negative, in fact – sympathy for all things MAGA, I fear that the techno-oligarchic capture of the American state will be strengthened rather than weakened with Congress under Democratic control. 3/4

The mechanisms of capture will simply become less visible and somewhat softer, friendlier, dressed in a more enlightened legitimisation – but exactly because of such a posture things will get worse in the end. 4/4
