Maybe. It becomes so technical and means-to-an-end for me where I'm just focused on arriving to a destination. Like driving in the car for 8 hours and being relieved and exhausted when you arrive. I don't enjoy the process at all and I suspect a "real" artist would.

hmm, some of the stuff that I'm like, the most happy to have made, in retrospect, was not necessarily the most enjoyable process. though overall I guess I do find drawing fun so idk (won't argue)

Drawing is a thing I had to learn in order to make comics, lol. For some reason drawing feel incredibly different when not towards the end goal of a sequence so I suffer badly when it comes to illustrating (am stuck on a complicated plant watercolor atm). Def wish I was more like you in that regard

weirdly enough I also kinda suck at one-off illustrations, in the sense of like, being able to just sit down & draw a thing on a paper without it being either from life (plant drawings etc) or built around some idea/written sequence. always wished I were more of an amano type person, but, alas

I do get it's a struggle though. comics especially feels like a process where a lot of the passion/spark is in the idea & planning stage & then the actual making, for me at least, feels like a uphill hike w a bunch of scenic views along the way (the big set pieces I'm actually excited to draw)
