I've used the artist name 'Snake' for most of my life at this point. Completely forgot I had a little snake mascot around 2007 for a short while. I've decided to update the design for fun. Hand-animated it, because it felt more entertaining. Still trying to workshop a name.

Snaptrap (looks a bit like animal trap) Zaptrap (looks a bit like a zipper) Scroatl (snake + crotal bell + -coatl (serpent in aztec)) Sting (snake trap ring) Ziptile (zipper + reptile) Crotile (crotal + reptile) Zroatle (zipper + coatl + reptile in spelling only) Sonsim (son of simon but reversed)

Could call him Shake. Shake the smiling fake snake who likes to bake at the lake with Jake and take steak or cake in his wake… man that was a lot, oh yeah. Ache 👍 The animation looks real cool, love the shine especially

Is there an accurate place I can read about them? I know from just researching my own local folklore, online descriptions tend to be wildly inaccurate and I'd rather base it on the actual thing

Really enjoying the interpretation! From what I've been able to read so far, the idea of translucent snake mist that emerges from water, but is somehow still on fire is a really interesting visual image. Taking various unexpected shapes is also a fun idea. I'll give this one some thought!

The interpretations I know are that it is sometimes a great flaming serpent with several eyes, or just a big serpent covered in plants and branches and spewing fire. It acts as a kind of guardian spirit of the rivers of the Amazon. To me it looks like a benevolent cosmic horrors hehe

I think I always fall in love with your animations twice; first with the rendering, like how the glossy metal here bends the light a little as it moves, and then again with the character acting as seen with the motion on the tail Always feel like there's something to learn from your anims ❤️

I don't imagine you're looking for feedback on an older post, but I kinda felt inspired. With the dark color scheme and brass accents, it reminds me of a velvet rope used to manage crowds at a fancy event. So how about Velvet?
