Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

We wiped out smallpox, developed vaccines for most childhood diseases, developed mRNA vaccines, developed immune therapies for cancer, cleaned up a bunch of rivers, cleaned up the air (these last two are under attack now though), eliminated leaded gasoline and paint.

think pretty much all of this happened before my lifetime
