why does it need 4g. why does the hunk of metal and plastic and rubber i use to transport myself, other people, and objects need a data connection. does my car need to sext another car? does it need to upload data it's gathered on me without my enthusiastic consent? do you not own a smartphone?

because it is extremely useful to be able to monitor an electric vehicle's charging session while you're not physically in the car, given fast charging sessions usually last like a half hour

i currently do not have app access to my vehicle and it has been very annoying while charging out and about to not check on it to make sure the charging session is good

unfortunately individual chargers have been kind of unreliable and sometimes a charge stops and you need to move stalls, but they're more reliable now than ever. if they just worked this would be less important, and i understand the privacy concerns, but there is actual utility! options are good.
