when you haven’t used either haiku or kimi
If you are still on the “cheap Chinese models will take share from US labs” cope train you need to get off. US labs are now distilling their own models to compete across the Pareto frontier, so Haiku is better model than Kimi at 1/8th the cost. The only reason to use it is if you MUST self-host.

this is why disclosure is not a selling point, if you're curious
It always comes back to this for me; if AI was so good, such a disclosure would be a selling point. If AI was everything these slop jockeys said it was, they should be proud to let people know their game was AI made. But the proof is in the pudding, and they can't stand that people don't want it.
skill issue im making my dream software and many, many thousands of people use the things i make every day
The idea of the AI developer as someone burgeoning with wonderful, never before seen ideas who just needed the tools to realize them is by and large a fantasy. The reality of the AI developer is someone producing spam at volume who has no ideas of their own, so just clone something popular.

babe, i can run this shit on my graphics card. that's not where the electricity or the compute costs are coming from. and while I'm excited about future training and model building work I'd be basically fine with What Currently Exists for the rest of time so like.
