What's your favorite player archetype to have at your #ttrpg table? The tactician? The roleplayer? The chaos agent? The rules lawyer? The quiet one who drops brilliant ideas? (And which one are YOU?) #dnd #rpg #ttrpgCommunity

The one who makes the group bond. In the first session of the last campaign I ran, one character just started nicknaming these people he had ended up with. It really helped inter-party dynamics emerge more quickly.

I prefer crunchy games, so a rules lawyer, aka. someone who reads the damn book, is always welcome at my games. Depending on table, I can wear different hats. Usually in con games I’m “the roleplayer” as others kill the vibe fast.

the Tank who's not a Tank and who tends to miss strategy discussions... LEEROYYY JENKINS!! i decline to comment as to which archetype i may or may not be.

I love the players who pay attention and know their PC's action when their turns come around. (To be fair, we play Champions, possibly the slowest combat system ever.)

My favorite types of players are: The notetaker, the one that brings good snacks, the one that remembers to take pictures of the miniatures and complex board setups, and the one that takes the game world very seriously. I feel lucky my groups usually manage to rotate in these functions :D

The studious one who takes notes and asks questions based on what I've provided. Me? Tech if possible. I'm going to be a mechanic of some sort. Forge or Stark type. Else, fast. I want to be first and last. 2 months after VTM came out, I joined with Fleetness. It was only three dots to max out.

The ironic one. Currently playing a lawful evil gray elf magic-user who's also a Christian (see crucifix). Of course, his sect of Christianity is not widely accepted outside his clan. He's also the only magic-user in his decadent clan to have a pseudodragon familiar (his one unique thing). 1/2

We're playing in "Arduin", and Hargrave listed Christianity on his long list of pantheons active in the multiverse. Can I pass up the chance to play a Christian in a fantasy RPG? No, reader, I cannot. 2/2

I am the note taker and my DMs know it’s about to go down when I start rapidly flipping through my notes and going “oh no. Oh NO” as soon as they sprinkle in a little hint because they know my character is about to become the party conspiracy theorist 🤣

I'm an actor by trade, so rp is my love. I want a good story we all tell together. But I also love the challenge the rules create as a framework. Not a rules lawyer, because I also love rule of cool, but I love a good flavorful reason to use a mechanic, and I appreciate a GM who rewards it.

At least for me, when i am the game master, then i appreciate all of those archetypes of players. When i am a player and not game master (so rare!), then mostly i appreciate another player to be a tactician.

The quiet one who’s been listening for an hour and then says the one thing that changes the whole plan. I’m usually the tactician who tries not to look like the tactician.
