The reason M and C voted against Hesgeth is because their votes don’t matter with 53 GOP Senators. There’s no pressure on them to vote against someone like Kavanaugh. When Alito and Thomas retire, the votes from M and C won’t matter. If they get primaried, they’ll be replaced with MAGA. Dems lose.
