It's maddening. Add Senator Peter Welch to your list of performative senators. @welch.senate.gov uses social media to show his outrage against Trump's assault on the Constitution, and then he votes yes on his judicial nominees (eg. 2000 election conspiracy theorist Alexander Van Hook (W.D. La.).

TL;DR: IMHO it's because they no longer serve their voters. They serve their corporate sponsors. And that apparently means preserving the kayfabe of ordinary government above all else.

I don’t know why they are confirming these nominees but I do know we are watching and taking notes. Any democrat senator that votes for them will be turned out of office. They need to understand the current environment is not business as usual. If they don’t respond they will be gone.

All their years in the Senate, including many of them getting housed at every turn by Mitch McConnell, and they've learned nothing.
