Mine is the same. My "Following" feed is the only useful one, the rest are just full of angry people and I am not interested in that

Some ideas: Following, not Discover Mute words Lists for JS or not JS I kind of want a personal ML-driven feed to filter out stuff like this. Guessing it's possible

The only Twitter-derivative I use with even infrequent regularity is a mastodon instance (ruby.social). Ive reduced my usage of other platforms because of this reason. (niche but I’m certain theres one for FE) Not that I dont care, its just…a lot. And I’d like to be more in control of the throttle.

I've done that as well! I haven't kept up with it over the last few months though, but I've at least tried to follow a couple hundred developers or so.

I get some amount of political content, because I follow a bunch of people, and those people have opinions they want to share. but it's a natural part of my feed and not the dominant topic (or pushed down my throat)

If you want nerds, you're definitely going to find a lot of them on Mastodon.

Yes! I'm not crazy! This is one of the reasons I still use Mastodon - I have way more control over what content gets to me than I do on bsky.

I subscribe to a lot of mute lists, particularly for democrats, leftists, and liberals (not an indication of my political ideology; just pragmatic 😅). Sometimes when I see a political post I’ll check to see if the poster is on any mute lists and subscribe to those lists.
