Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

My mam died of breast cancer in 1998, late diagnosis. She was a nurse & knew what the treatment would be. I was diagnosed via regular BreastCheck appt in June 2023, had a mastectomy in late Aug 2023. Back to work a week later. No chemo,no radiotherapy. 2 check ups/yr & a small pill daily is all.

I was a diagnosed with leukaemia in 2006. One of my nurses told me at the clinic one day “Look around. All these women getting treatment for BC. 10, even 5 years ago all the doctors could do was tell them to go home and get their affairs in order. And look at them now”. I’ve never forgotten that.
