if you are not thrilled about a hard problem being solved I think you're not doing mathematics, you're doing crosswords and you're bummed out someone spoiled the solution for you. use an abacus if you're afraid of computers, because this is a really silly position to take

I understand the very human struggle, and computer engineers are at the centre of it, your entire skillset that you spent a lifetime cultivating is now something anyone can do, and it puts your self-worth in question. AI spoils the fun out of lots of things that used to be hard

I'm not celebrating it at all but I also don't think this is the end of human purpose, that's a very pessimistic view, which I get that's the easiest to have because, well, shit is bad
