"I mean like if you are a armed agent of the state in that dude's position in the video, we saw it today, and you fear for your life while standing to the side of a car...you're in the wrong line of work. 'cause you're too much of a pussy to be a cop." - @jvl.bsky.social

A reminder from Huffington Post that DHS and ICE have opened fire on unarmed civilians 16 times since Trump took office, killing 4 people. In every case, DHS claims that the victims "assaulted officers" and/or tried to ram them with cars. In every case, evidence proves they are lying. Every time.

The bigger question is why are we the only western civilization nation whose cops routinely shoot to kill. The murderer could hover shot tires...or taken his phone, and shoot a photo of the license place, then drive over to her house. Now a child has lost a mother because why?

That dick, Jonathan Ross, in an encounter with another car, injured his arm when he broke the rear window and reached in and the driver sped away and dragged him. Ten years experience. He has a lot to learn.

Seriously!! If he was so traumatized by being drug by a car and getting 32 stitches six months ago, then he shouldn’t have been in the field all trigger happy in one hand and film maker in the other.

Hehe it is funny that since he has multiple altercations with vehicles - did he miss 2yo lessons? Don't run in front of cars. 5yo dont run out into street. 7+yo dont hide between parked vehicles. Js simple concepts

However, I disagree with JVL on a finer point. They are not there to be police, nor to enforce immigration laws. They are there to terrorize and stoke fear in the citizenry. They are doing their job as expected by Christy Noem, Tom Hoeman, Gregory Bovino, and others in the Replican Party.

One would think would have to undergo psychological evaluation & need clearance to RTW if suffering from what Vance is essentially describing a prior experience of Ross as comparable to PTSD. What Vance's excuse said is they released damaged goods, a ticking time-bomb onto the American people!

I keep thinking of Victor LaValle's the Ballad of Black Tom, where the protagonist's father is murdered by a detective. It's a cold-blooded killing, but the detective keeps repeating, "I feared for my life" to justify shooting the man 11 times, and it becomes the official police narrative. #BookSky

He did not fear for his life. He perceived a threat to himself. Homan, Vance, Noem, ... and now DHS has declared it policy that ... ANY PERCEPTION OF THREAT JUSTIFIES USE OF FORCE ON ANY AND ALL IN ITS VICINITY They've recruited a racist army to control the rest of us by any means necessary

I’m tired of treating MAGA like toddlers that you can’t say “no” to. They need consequences and their leaders need to be punished if we ever get out of this.

I was a cop for 30+ yrs and managed to not shoot into a moving vehicle. You get out of the way. That is not only common sense but it is dept policy. The biggest lawsuit against my dept during my career was against two officers that shot a DUI driver doing the exact same thing as Good. Driving away.

Not to mention the guy put HIMSELF in harms way. A Child knows not to stand in front or behind a moving vehicle. He was basically saying "I double Dare you, to run me over".

I will watch it in a bit. But I watch you both quite a lot so I kow your take. It should be the take of every american because IMO this is a new line. Straight up murder just because the mood struck you. The sweet face of MS Good will not leave me. So kind. "I am not mad at you dude"

Overheard: there should be an understanding the murderer, having recently been dragged and injured by a vehicle, would naturally be hypersensitive in a similar situation, which validates the shooting as a post traumatic stress reaction. WHAT? WHY was he back on the job, in the same circumstances?

I get the point but I hate the misogyny. Why is being scared being a pussy? They're men; countless women have shown more bravery than this. Why use this term?

Higher education was a requirement to get hired as a police officer back in the 1990's in many jurisdictions. It was a very competitive field. Now? Community oriented policing was also the standard in many places.
