It’s ok to judge people on their politics, for their political beliefs reflect their morality.

This is simply wrong and dangerous thinking. Research in Moral Foundations Theory continues to show that liberals and conservatives share a common morality in the intrapersonal and interpersonal domains with divergence appearing in group based moral motives within a social context.

This is dangerous thinking because it serves to further the division already so prevalent in our media sphere and political ideologies. We must resist the desire to continue to differentiate "them from us". Commonality in some fashion if not consensus must be the goal.

That’s an interesting perspective. While political beliefs can certainly reveal a lot about someone’s values, I think it’s also important to consider the complexity of individual circumstances and experiences. Engaging in open dialogue can lead to greater understanding, even if we don’t always agree

The problem is that people on the far right (and probably on the far left as well) don't want to "dialogue". They want to surround themselves with like-minded people who agree with them 100% of the time.

Perhaps. I see that more as a result of the cult mindset and not actually thinking for oneself. In every interview I've seen with a Trump supporter, they have been unable to articulate any real facts about the things they claim to care about or answer simple questions.

True, it was started when the state of Israel was created: which inevitably led to the expulsion of the Palestinian people. Surely the solution is a one state land mass where all peoples: Muslim, Christian, Jewish, atheists are all given equal rights rather than a Jewish state?

Exactly… The reason I will not deal with people who have proven they are morally corrupt and place no value on integrity… I will never forgive nor forget January 6th… Actions and words should be disqualifying.

I used to feel this way. The more I talk to people with opposite views of mine, the more I realize most of what they believe is lies. If I can find something in common, it's a lot easier to lead them to the realization that they've been lied to. Most people are good, just deceived. People change.

Absolutely. I've never been a judgmental person, believing that we can never truly know what another's hardships have been and how that's affected them. BUT, the emboldened cruelty of the cult? It's a bridge too far, a chasm too wide ideologically. Politics do reflect morality, that's the line💙

FACTS!!!! I once heard a Trump supporter say, “It’s just a difference of opinion!” That’s how they want things to be because, when make it an issue of morality, it completely shatters their John Wayne hero complex. They refuse to accept that they are the villains of this story and they can’t take it

Hard disagree, unless you are talking about WHY someone holds a particular political belief. If someone supports Trump because they believe he will do good, that is not a reflection of their morality, but their gullibility.

Real. If you support policies that hurt women, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, and other marginalized groups, that tells me you either don't care about these people, or haven't put in any brainpower into understanding these issues, in which case yeah, I'm going to judge you harshly.

True for the informed voter. However, we have too many who are uninformed and simply believe the gaslighting / propaganda as truth. They're just immature, not necessarily immoral

In that note don’t want/need to be friend friend with the people that voted trump in 2024 EVER. Can still co-exist and do the normal civilization things tho.

It’s not a theory. It’s a moral imperative to vote for candidates who hold and practice the moral integrity that they espouse. Compromise is not a moral failing, but deceit and lying about your intentions solely to gain power is.

It's divided the Jewish world- those of us who don't want a dictator/ and those of us who want to continue stealing from every other child in America, and taking voucher money for HORRIBLE schools.

Sure! How, then, to judge my Democrat friends who believe Biden is a good man who has not committed any crimes against humanity by sending check after check worth billions of dollars to Israel so that they may continue their campaign of genocide against the native people of Palestine?

Remember when asking for dijon mustard, arugula, wearing a TAN Suit & a coffee cup salute where considered to be Presidential Scandals?! Now you can lead an Insurrection, intentionally STEAL hordes of Classified Documents, be a lying, traitorous rapist FELON & still hold the Title. Shameful.

Obama didn't even ask for dijon mustard, he asked if they had a spicier mustard like dijon. So his big crime was using dijon as an example of a spicy mustard that people would be familiar with.

Nah, you being someone who at a minimum needs to see a whole persons life in order to judge them, we mere mortals needs as much information as one can get. And a few pet issues inside the Overton window do not = a whole person. I saw you mention 420 are you high?

If only the eyes reflected directly to the brain, what the mind refuses to recieve, of those of a lower brainwave frequency. like that of something only capable of a reptilian mind. But even that seems insulting to reptiles. Considering, even a reptile can see beyond the barbarism of the dualisms.

Since the election, I haven’t been able to bring myself to attend social events that include Trump supporters. I just can’t be around people like that. Fortunately, I live in an area that doesn’t have too many of them.

Politics and religion are both inherently ideological. However, many if not most ideological conflicts are really ontological ones; for instance everyone wants a 'fair' system, but they'll draw the boundaries round that concept in very different ways...

Evil is when Greedy, Intelligent beings choose to be Greedy. Evil=Greed*Intelligence^Choices A fish may be Greedy, but a fish lacks the intelligence to comprehend the consequences its behavior creates. Humans do not have such integers.
