If I were to go live to do a marathon fundraising drive for Minneapolis, what charity could I or should I raise money for? Where would a few thousand dollars really help right now?

I have yet to do one of these personally. A friend has been helping neighbors for two months now and has run out of funds for their neighbors and themselves. I know everyone is stretched thin, but it you can help at all I'd appreciate it. They are kind to a fault. gofund.me/74c9bc508

Anything Educational Or a Disability Support ACLU… Food Banks A local library Doctors without Boarders Pet shelters due to increased surrenders due to economy?

Smitten Kitten is the name of that shop. Not sure if they are on BlueSkyy but they are on IG and regularly post the needs of those in Minneapolis.

South High, also. This is a high school right near the (still charred and barbed wire wrapped) 3rd precinct, urban community of Somali, Latino, indigenous and other kids , and south is able to get people groceries, coats, rent—a highly trusted community ❤️ www.gofundme.com/f/support-so...

For the local organizers and people who have lost wages to show up at each and every protest. Legal defense fund for those incarcerated or held in camps. Medical bills for the injured.

Yes! I needed to visit a food bank a few times many years ago. It’s an especially good option if they have volunteer deliveries to folks afraid to leave their homes!

The local churches who are collecting everything for brown families, including frightened single moms who can’t leave their kids at home and go to work for fear of being disappeared. We have a rent crisis here in Minneapolis and surrounding communities because now people are late in their rent.

UPDATE: An additional $8,500 were raised by The Greg Bovino Bitch Fund Benefiting Immigrant Rights in Minnesota (on top of the initial $10k.) These funds have been donated to Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAC), an org that supports local immigrants in all areas of life.

I beleive there are groups of volunteers who deliver groceries to those shut in due to the presence of ICE. I would think raising money for them to buy food fill cars witj gas and auto maintenance would be something wisely used

Helping Immigrant families for shipping for them, networking, hiding. Don’t know if there’s an established one. I do know neighbors helping neighbors….but you could start one!! Also see if Drs available for homecare for them!! Home visits, Nurse Practitioners, perhaps.Look into it or start it!

I would look at the local restaurants who are offering free coffee, sandwiches, inside space etc. to those protesting with no expectation of ever getting paid. They are like World Kitchens at this point, right there in the mess of the protests with no customers except those protesting. Bless them.

During the January 2026 "ICE Out" protests and general strike in Minnesota, dozens of restaurants and coffee shops, particularly in the Twin Cities, supported demonstrators by closing in solidarity,
