Look I don’t actually want to be mean but anyone who voted for trump is too stupid to understand how the world works. How the hell do you convince them to vote in their own interests? You can dangle keys but they’ll turn on you when someone tells them they should

It's impossible to convince them all, but it's probably possible to convince enough of them to win elections. The most important thing, then, is to turn promises into reality. Too often people are elected and don't, or even do the opposite of, what the voters hoped for (hello UK, hello France).

The main problem is social bubbles (owned by whom we know). If the media we watch and the algos confirm the worst biases, that's a problem. But proposing to improve people's lives concretely (and REALLY doing it once in power) is probably the best way to convince a few people.

i dunno, a lot of those voters voted in line with their material conditions - under trump four years prior their experience of life was marginally easier. - but the thing is the sorts of univeralist policies mamdani is promoting will make their lives better. and that moves the needle.
