Exactly. Hypocrites.

To be fair, all I really want Movie Wise from Disney, is a reboot of ep 7-9. With George's stories and art direction... No matter how insane. George getting cut out of Star Wars, is as if the last Dune books had been written while Mr. herbert was still alive. Madness.

"[Lucasfilm] waited until the project was “ready to shoot” before they presented it to Disney. When the final script, budget, and proposed start date were delivered to Disney, it marked the first time Lucasfilm had ever presented a fully approved project that did not move forward."

A completed script? For a SW movie? what are they thinking?

Hahahahahaha Oh woahhhh What an UTTER failure from Iger and Bergman. They really are absolutely feckless humans.

Frankly dropping a bomb like this so it blows on social medial is a very common tactics to try to make stuff happens. (See : all the Trek writers talking about their dream project hoping to be noticed by the new management) And hopefully Iger won't stay past 2026

They could try making it a book, instead and see how that fares. The production cost is much lower to "test the waters"

Iger needs to gtfo of there. The guy's stale.

Bob Iger killing a Star Wars movie directed by one of the greatest living American directors centered on the only character from the sequel-trilogy that was universally liked, is peak DisneyStarWars.

This is all just criminal. That film sounds like it would have been genuinely amazing! Soderbergh is a genius.

I didn't care much for Episode 9, but this story, produced by this crew, would pique my interest. I'll bet a lot of SW fans would agree.

I don't think anyone takes that excuse at face value. There must be other reasons.

It doesn't speak well of Lucasfilm's creative process, IMO, that they're still interested in making films about the total void of charisma known as Ben Solo. Even one directed by Steven Soderbergh.

I mean, he'd already died and comback one time, two would be an extravagance!

Kind of seems like... if they made the movie... the movie would explain why.

This project sounds cool as hell, top to bottom. But I tried watching that new Darth Maul show, and I have the same problem as those execs. I saw that guy get cut in half with a lightsaber, and it's tough seeing him run around stabbing with only a bionic cummerbund and spite keeping him together.
