Greetings. I'm a 30+ year veteran of the games industry. I've made Lots of my own original IP like TY the Tasmanian Tiger and Blade Kitten. As well as directing some smaller lesser known IP like Star Wars: The Force Unleashed :D I like to design characters and make comics in my "spare" time.

You know, one of my proudest achievements might be that I fell that I don't suffer from same-face-syndrome and still have a consistent style that feels my own. That said, don't ask me to do someone else's style because I totally suck at getting that right. Maybe that's win/win?

Updated some art to show off some of the newer NPC art (as in, not 4 years old😧)

I'm glad 7 days are over, they've been a little stressful with diet prep and the rest for my procedure. Glad it all went well today and now I can get back to doing stuff again. Oh, also, I had pizza to cap things off. So that's like a fresh start, right?

Procedure all done and went well, a couple of polyps removed and back in 3 years time. Also they had some fantastic egg and chive sandwiches . I’m going to have to try that next time I make egg salad sandos.

Having a colonoscopy on Monday. I'm old enough that it will be my third. Tomorrow is a liquid diet and the prep. 4 liters for me, luckily, it tastes like thick Gatorade, so I don't have a problem with it.

Went out to grab a nice piece of grilled Barra and chips for dinner. Had to drive past the little bat colony where the flying foxes were flying over the intersection to eat the wattles across the road. Very cute watching them navigate the flowers on the trees to eat while waiting at the lights.

I'm glad past me did it this way because yesterday I added back gamepad controls for everything and it wasn't difficult. Still heaps to tweak and polish but now you can easily play it on the go.

I also changed the way input works under the hood so that it's ready to add joypad controls back in later when I work out how I want them to handle things.

Got my Retroid Pocket 6 today and immediately dropped Gunwale onto it. Looks lovely on the screen. I think I'll slowly work the button controls back in but the main focus is still mouse. So tempted to also order an Odin Portal 3, but I don't need another handheld...yet.

This week I've been doing heaps of little code fixes/improvements to Gunwale. Nothing super-exciting but finally I got off my arse and made sure all the elements link together properly, well, at least reasonably ok. It now has subtle overtones of a game.

I love how icloud is absolutely fucking useless when you actually need to get a picture off your phone to your PC in a timely manner. It's always... Last update - yesterday or let me download 400 photos for no reason before you can do anything with that one photo.

Would you believe this is the game that led to the birth of Krome Studios?

'Mike Stewart's Pro Bodyboarding' (2009) By: Gee Whiz! Entertainment (QLD) For: PC A sports game based on bodyboarding, a derivative of wave riding where players lie down on the board to perform tricks.

Raining this morning and the Butcher bird is back sheltering from the water, and this time he brought a friend. They've both been sitting there singing away outside my bedroom since about 5:30AM.

Spent most of yesterday working on a 3D model in Blender. Made decent progress. Decided to update Blender which then proceeded to crash when loading the file and tell me that it's corrupted. I was not happy.

The model I'm building is a 3D Greeley, so I can finally get around to printing a figure on my A1 mini. Also. it stops me from looking at code all weekend. Verts are so much more relaxing, right?

From the fridge... 😊

Gunwale@gunwaleregis.bsky.social

Early days of adding in some animation for another NPC in Gunwale, Roob, so that she's not just standing around blankly. Lazy me would default to that, but having them doing things makes the world feel a lot more alive.

This is probably pretty obvious to anyone who follows me online. I like to make stuff that I enjoy and share it online with people, I don't create "content". It's just my version of sticking my art on the refrigerator.

Took Mickey to the vet to get the huge lump on his back leg looked at - biopsy says it's another lipoma (fatty lump). He's had one removed before and this one's not bothering him so we're just going to be keeping an eye on it for now.

We had a Pokemon-ish 3d platformer sequel to this which we started experimenting with before we started Krome. That became the basis for the first TY prototype.

Every movie, song, and book that you love was made without the technology that people who don’t make art are now insisting is necessary for making art.

Boring behind-the-scenes stuff, but I've rewritten the UI code to have dynamically created text boxes. They're still a bit basic, but the functionality is in place for later.
