[Unproduced Star Wars movie] The Hunt for Ben Solo Adam Driver and Steven Soderbergh spent two years developing a SW film that was ultimately nixed by Disney. Driver: “I had been talking about doing another one since 2021. Kathleen (Kennedy) had reached out. I always said: With a..."

Andor was incredible and is probably the peak of the franchise, it's just that after the prequels came out my world view of Star Wars as a mythical series was shattered, haha. So I'm no longer fazed by any bad Star Wars.

"...great director and a great story, I’d be there in a second. I loved that character and loved playing him.” Driver: "We presented the script to Lucasfilm. They loved the idea. They totally understood our angle and why we were doing it. We took it to Bob Iger and Alan Bergman and they said no."

To be fair, all I really want Movie Wise from Disney, is a reboot of ep 7-9. With George's stories and art direction... No matter how insane. George getting cut out of Star Wars, is as if the last Dune books had been written while Mr. herbert was still alive. Madness.

“We wanted to be judicial about how to spend money and be economical with it, and do it for less than most but in the same spirit of what those movies are, which is handmade and character-driven,” Driver says. “‘Empire Strikes Back’ being, in my opinion, the standard of what those movies were."

It doesn't speak well of Lucasfilm's creative process, IMO, that they're still interested in making films about the total void of charisma known as Ben Solo. Even one directed by Steven Soderbergh.

This project sounds cool as hell, top to bottom. But I tried watching that new Darth Maul show, and I have the same problem as those execs. I saw that guy get cut in half with a lightsaber, and it's tough seeing him run around stabbing with only a bionic cummerbund and spite keeping him together.

CW: spoilers if you haven’t seen TFA I love Adam Driver and I think Ben’s story could’ve been really compelling and interesting— but he will forever go down as “that dude who prison shivved the most beloved character in Star Wars”. The fans will never forgive him for it.

This is one character I do like from the sequel movies and think he did his best with what was given. Kinda wonder what he would do with a similar character in another sci-fi story. Give whatever idea he had another shot if only in spirit?

I think Adam and Daisy have been toying with ideas they wanted for their next SW appearance (if if happens, and it must) in other films already. We Bury the Dead has Daisy’s character searching for any sign of her husband after a disaster. And she is of course aware of a Reylo AU on the big screen.
