One of my favorites

This was so fun seeing in a theater with a bunch of other movie nerds. The sound really helps the fear part come through even as the graphics show their age.

Such a great movie.

One of my favorite movies.

Very much like A Night on Bald Mountain

It’s how you can tell how old you are. You: great CGI Your parents: amazing special effects. Your grandparents: Great trick photography

That explains it, I wondered why the FX looked so great for the time

And, don't call me Shirley.

Whoa! I had no idea Leslie Nielsen was young once.

United Planets Cruiser C-57D (commanded by Commander John J. Adams Mission: A rescue operation traveling to the remote planet Altair IV to investigate the fate of an expedition sent 20 years prior.

Ah yes, the movie with Leslie Nielsen.

6 7 Alert ! 😱

Star trek 1956

Way better than the other place. Literally forces racism shite on you if you go to the search tab.... And trending is always propaganda.

😂

As a matter of fact, yes you do.

You are a ray of laser light.

Today you could help celebrate the birthday of Cam Kennedy, one of the finest spaceship artists ever!

The sound editing on that film was amazing.

I was just watching this. What a great movie but the misogyny is pretty heavy.

I KNEW I had seen him before!

I can’t see these without thinking about Amazon Women on the Moon.

Always incredible to know that Leslie Nielsen had dark hair this one time

When Shakespeare wrote Sci-Fi.

Poor Red-Shirt-Crossfire-Guys… 🤷‍♂️

"10 times 10 times 10 times 10 times 10 times 10."

Classic scene.

Still one of the most gorgeous looking sci-fi movies and it was a huge influence on Gene Roddenberry, apparently the Enterprise’s registry number 1701, was a reference to the C57D arriving at Altair at 17:01!

What an utterly massive movie, it not only influenced so much Sci-Fi after it, but it was also an amazingly good movie.

Huh, I didn't know that. I vaguely remember seeing a stop motion adaptation of the tempest when I was little, need to revisit that as well.

Weediest looking rayguns in SF history. Cracking film, all the same.

God I bet. It's so much fun to see all the places downstream in sci-fi that this movie has had influences. Like the great machine from Babylon 5

I'm a bit jealous 😁 but I'm patient.

Awesome movie

This movie is one of the greatest of all time. Set the stage for Star Trek and a positive message for the future of humanity.

Well, true.
