I hate this morning. I was expecting to wake up to see a media and political storm following an investigation yesterday showing that the French police were instructed to say the looting was organized by an opposition party. But there’s nothing—no consequences at all.The vast majority of the media...

...don't even mention it. We’re moving away from the rule of law, and we no longer have anything to envy about the U.S. And after watching international law crumble, it pains me soooooooooooo much to see that, at home, things are heading down the same path. Worst morning.

A month and a half ago, we learned that our Minister of the Interior disclosed sensitive information (which turned out to be false) to journalists about the police custody of a political opponent. Once again, there have been no consequences. Without the rule of law, there is no society, guys.

It bothers me all the more that some people close to me see no problem with it, simply because they dislike that party. We don’t share the same values at all—it’s just wild.

I will provide a detailed explanation for those interested in international politics but I will do so on a different account, so as not to clutter this one again. 🤭 It is my role as a citizen to sound the alarm, but things have reached such a level of filthiness that there is simply too much to say.

But, in all honesty, I am more afraid for my country now than ever before—even more so than during the time of the terrorist attacks or Covid. All the rules are collapsing, and authoritarian rhetoric is proliferating. I don’t know how far this will go.

And it’s the politicians/medias who scare me—not the rioters, whom the media use as a pretext to avoid discussing the actual issues. (This is a deliberate choice in media framing; stop claiming that "violence makes sincère demands disappear"—that’s simply how you choose to report on things.)

Consequences. Yes. Something I want to see over here 🇬🇧 too.

I do wonder if the apathetic majority would vote then the miserable minority would hold less sway. I’d also like to see actual 🤬-ing consequences for all the 💩-housery. Not just a telling off or a reward, a penalty with teeth that we unequivocally follow through with. A boy can dream.
