When I posted this on Mastodon I had a bunch of replyguys arguing with me that “it’s not Google’s fault they show you bad information when you google for something on Google’s servers that uses Google’s algorithms to find things in Google’s index”

The initial fault is with ChatGPT that spewed this nonsense. Then an aggregation page sucked it up and published. Then Google just took that at face value and used as their default answer. So all three are completely brainless, unsupervised and repeating dumb shit they heard from a bloke at a pub.

hate to prove the stereotype? but? they're kinda right?? like, it's AI brainrot, sure, but not *Google's* AI brainrot, just some third-party site flooding the net with garbage lol still a Google problem, just not "Google AI brainrot" (yet)
