Much later than planned, almost as if we completely forgot, it's Tuesday 17 October 1967, and the Birmingham Post has our ATV, TWW General, TWW Teledu Cymru and Rediffusion (for some reason) programmes. You're on this, right? Clickety click --> transdiffusion.org/atv-show-book/

"Crossword on Two" looks intriguing. I'm also struck by the brevity of news bulletins in comparison with today's supposedly dumbed-down schedules.

An almost total lack of film inserts (there was basically no video), so news was someone talking to the camera, still pictures, and maps, with the odd bit of film 12-48 hours after the story. Both networks knew this was dullsville for viewers, best get it over quick.

I've heard stories of the difficulties US reporters in Vietnam had in getting their film and photos back to their networks. It was another world then.
