Yeah, that’s a terrible advert, but come on, we’re still getting complaints from people who are only now getting round to ordering The Weekender from 2023 and wondering why the crowdfunder ended so early. Couldn’t we have waited until they got round to it?

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

This video was made at about the same time as ATV was deciding on the identity for the new Central Independent Television. It's likely a complete coincidence.

🟥 REWIND | YT Clip | Wondering if these were specially made for Channel, given the "action" seems to sit between that ghastly overlay of a section of the logo. Still hard to believe this logo made it as far as the 90s.

@thetvroom.com @tvlive.site @ukpres1.bsky.social A couple of rare examples of Channel TV trailers for Emmerdale. Definitely no lifting of Meridian's promo graphics this time... www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cmx...

You all know and love our friend John's fascinating deep-dives into the production minutiæ of television, right? Well you should, and this, something that unusually has no answers (yet), is a great place to start: once this tiny, throwaway thing is pointed out by him, you can't unsee/unhear it.

If you don't have time to watch it all, watch the first 45 seconds of this video. An classic ABC Weekend title sequence, all harsh black and white, immediately gripping. And then the opening scene, a slam into the plot that asks a lot of the audience. Plus ding-ding-ding, bump-de-bump of course.

Leonard Rossiter was born 100 years ago today. Here is in an episode of Red Cap along with John Thaw, Ian McShane, Mike Pratt, John Noakes (with a dodgy Welsh accent) and Bill Treacher, who played Arthur Fowler in EastEnders. #otd
