I first recognized in myself how I felt about so many current events and life itself thanks to the words and comedy of Jon Stewart awakening my opinions, and I've never regretted learning from him...still do!!!

My entire life the Daily Show has been the only reliable source of news and that's fucking horrifying. Cable news was dead ages ago when it gave into the 24 hour cycle, but now it's just completely fucked beyond saving.

Jon Stewart is my favourite journalist. The other journalists I pay attention to are either comedians or independent youtubers. The rest are all paid for by advertising, and just as boring.

Jon Stewart is happy to play both sides. When someone takes issue with his centrist bullshit, suddenly he’s “just a comedian” and no one should listen to him. Instead of motivating people to do better, making jokes undercuts the seriousness of the issues. “Haha! War crimes, amirite?!”

His shaming of people who mask was unacceptable, and those trying to pass it off as just a joke were wrong. His lab leak crusade was equally harmful. Other than that he's always had a half critique of politics at best. Not that funny anymore either. I don't follow his career anymore and don't care.
