also you just run into more smart people! I thought I was hot shit in high school, went to a good college and realized that everyone else there was also hot shit in high school and I was average at best then I went to work at a company full of very smart people it’s pretty humbling

I was a pretty smart kid who was humbled early by being surrounded by literal geniuses. One friend (valedictorian) was a Westinghouse finalist. Another kid in my cohort speed ran high school in three years, still ended up third in the class and went to study physics at the university of Chicago.
