In case you thought "dude is the jerkoff hand gesture incarnate" wasn't a good enough reason to not buy the dude's games, get a load of this:

I gave Braid an A+ back in my press days. I spent 100s of hours working on The Witness at PlayStation, fighting for it, getting it into conferences, and being Jon's personal wrangler. I even coined "Metroidbrainia" after it. I will not be buying Order of the Sinking Star, and neither should you.

How are you gonna be a pretentious art game dev and criticize DEI, my brother in christ you ARE the Liberal Arts Major bullshit chuds say are ruining videogames

Played both for the first time in the last few years: Fez has aged great because it does so much with its gameplay gimmick. Braid had some fun gameplay gimmicks in levels, but I was rolling my eyes at the “deep” narrative text and the shocking revelation that you were the bad guy all along.

I personally choose to credit all the stuff that sucks (the voice recordings, the stupid pretentious bullshit, the true ending) to Blow, and all the actually good stuff (the puzzles, the visuals, the vibe) to the rest of the team

lmao what can there even be to whisper about at this point i mean oh my god don't answer that but who is going to be "noooo, not *blow*!"

I remember when Braid first came out and all the game journalists were excited about interviewing the seemingly whimsical genius behind the clever little indie game that could. And then he started talking at them and they all simultaneously realized that he's an insufferable twerp.

If you look at his twitter account (or don't because who wants to do that?), he's been clearly not outwardly talking about that stuff for the last year or so. Maybe in replies that wouldn't show up on his feed, but most everything is about the game or industry stuff. He's very aware of it.

i wouldn't be shocked if his collaborators on this game managed to convince him to hire a publicist to make sure he didn't completely sabotage their reputations
