The real lost opportunity was that Jared Golden, the 43 yr old congressman from Northern Maine, Marine Corps vet wasn't recruited for this seat. Instead, it was the aging sitting Govenor.

Like I can understand him as a congressman for ME-02. Not happy about it, but Trump has won that district 3 times. So I get that he probably has to be pretty conservative to keep his seat and it's definitely better than having a Republican there. But for a statewide race? Absolutely not
