I'm assuming that it was an attempt to fend off a National Guard infiltration or an attempt to redirect federal funds. Regardless, New York democrats begrudgingly accepted Adams, no one except for the 538 guy was actually excited about Adams becoming mayor.

NYdems didn't want to accept Modani either. GOP are now dumping Trump and here comes NY mayor crawling hand and foot to Trump who will always have Epstein on back. Sometimes the establishment knows the background--like Andrew Gillum and his scandal and Adams an ex-republican. I told U first-huckster

That is unbelievable. I guess Trump took Mamdani's advice (during his victory sppech) and turned his TV volume up. The convicted felon agreed to meet someone he openly hated. Most likely, Trump is interested in Mamdani's thinking because mainstream Dems (like Hakeem) refuse to support the mayor.
