arab americans are well represented in many high skill professions such as doctor and engineer but i can see how rfk wouldn't have encountered them in his day to day routines of eating roadkill and cheating on his wife

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

Saw a yard sign today that just said: …Had Enough? Vote Republican and I need to remind these people that they are actually the ones in charge of the government! This is also in Texas where the GOP has run the state for decades

Being mad about the status quo and deciding to vote Republican can only be rationalized by these people thinking that though the GOP controls every aspect of government, they did see an interracial couple in a commercial one time so really who can say which party is running things?

Every single one of these is a draft title for a fake 30 Rock show that the writers eventually decided was too dumb

ReelShort's 'The Triplets' Final Regret,' a vampire soap opera, hits No. 1 for the third time as the most-watched microdrama across paid platforms, per Owl & Co.'s latest Vertical Index snapshot. Full charts: bit.ly/4BqzZzV

Been reading about a lot of very bad but entirely ordinary people throughout history for the next season of Past Lives (Everyday Villains). This guy is utterly typical. 1) Doesn't think he's doing anything wrong. 2) Permission structure in a system of hierarchical authority. 3) Benefits materially.

I fully get the danger in appraising all historical figures through a modern lens but there are a few nonnegotiables, otherwise you are committing to a limp relativism that opens up an even worse can of worms

If you agree that Caesar committed genocide in Gaul (which I don’t think is really beyond dispute) then there’s not really any moral need to handwring about condemning it. A genocide that happened 2000 years ago is just as immoral as one that is happening now.

In case you needed any more proof that every middle aged white guy who says he’s “independent” or “apolitical” is just a Republican who is too embarrassed to admit it

These two rock because their whole deal is party control of the senate but they don’t actually have a stated party preference

An amazing image from Twin Peaks, Dune, and Fallout star Kyle MacLachlan's memoir "Fictional Selves" that just shows how awesome Patrick Stuart is.

Post Obama a ton of ambitious Democrats adopted his cadence. This is the first guy I’ve ever seen try to a verbatim Trump impression but it doesn’t work because he isn’t senile

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Joe Mitchell: "Thank God you're building the ballroom. Thank God you're getting rid of those awful bike lanes. We don't ride bicycles in Iowa."

Some like Ossoff can pull off the Obama impression because they’re good communicators and have their own persona to stand on but others (like Buttigieg and Shapiro) who try to copy him exactly to cover up their own shortcomings just sound weird. This guy falls into the latter category

there’s no point in Dems left punching or denouncing DSA, republicans will call you a communist no matter what. This is Texas, where the most left wing position advocated by any Democrat is “don’t summarily execute the homeless” but they’re still called Marxists in GOP messaging

Intrigued by the idea of a Maine voter who wants Dems to win the Senate but just really loves Susan Collins

Taniel@taniel.bsky.social

Fox News' final poll of Maine's Senate race finds a 49/49 tie between Collins and Jackson among likely voters. (Jackson 50/48 among registered voters.) The same likely voter sample says they want Dems to run the Senate by a 53/45 margin.

Liz we’ve been open about this for a while

She is also one of the people who proudly held up one of the Epstein binders she got from Pam Bondi with a big smile for the cameras. This is who gets special access from Trump’s DOJ.

This is what happens when the jokes from their nazi group chats break containment. They spend 14 hours a day stewing in this stuff on X and have deluded themselves into thinking this is something normal people would agree with

FactPost@factpostnews.bsky.social

Unearthed footage of Vivek Ramaswamy mocking Amy Acton for being a survivor of childhood abuse: "She has no vision other than to complain about what someone else did to her"

Can’t be overstated that every Republican under the age of 45 is an active participant in dozen group chats where they are openly praising Hitler on a daily basis. If the media cared at all about at all it could be quite the scandal!

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...
