Sadly a non-zero amount of those followers have probably left the platform, and modern twitter will severely limit the reach of meaningful content in favor of controversial and argumentative rage bait. It would probably be more beneficial to just add rad content to a platform that deserves it.

It could help to shout out brand and people you have already found here. That's been the hardest part of transitioning - finding the community you had

a bunch of folks have made their last post 'I'm gone, find me here' because the experience of doing that repeatedly is apparently not always fun

I got a decent number of people to move over by 1) creating a Bluesky starter pack for my niche 2) tweeting about several times.

But not the full posts, only baits. Or redacted. So they have to come to Bluesky to read all of it.

i think posting about what you will do and why for some time first is a fine strategy. (my account was already mostly broken when i exited, so nobody saw anything i posted anyway for whatever reason..)

Don’t shut it down. Use text that’s favorable to algorithm boosting and add images that direct users to Bsky. Make it expensive for them to censor you. 😁
