I went to buy a copy of my new book Liar's Kingdom to give to my mom--my local bookstore was sold out, so I tried Barnes&Noble and was told that it was sold out all over the city except a single copy in Brooklyn. My reaction: Common Brooklyn, why are you the outlier? (Actual reaction: thank you!)

Ah, the old yellow pages ad springs to mind... "Ah, hello. I'm looking for a book called Flyfishing by J R Hartley." Montage of him phoning everywhere until... "Oh you do! Excellent! Could you keep it for me? My name? It's J R Hartley."

Of course it was sold out! You wrote a gem of a book and have lifted the spirits of all of we resisters and given us hope and a clear path forward to do SOMETHING concrete! Now could you become DNC chair?? ( asking for a friend, of course!😂

Andrew, We can't spare a copy for your mom. Margins are tight. You get it. Let's chat when I get back from the company golf game. My PA will set something up. - Jerry, VP of publishing

Either your publisher didn't give you presentation copies or you just didn't give one to your mother. In either case, a self-promoting post on social media about buying one for her is foolish.

Ack we missed you! You hired my husband, Jason Manning, to the DoJ fraud section in 2016. I’m going to buy him the book. Glad To know it’s doing so well!

Try Powells Bookstore online, out of Powells Bookstore in Portland OR. Biggest and best. If you are in the area, better yet go and visit. You will return.

If you can't buy it, here is the gist: The book is 176 pages long & its main point is: we should make it a crime to claim that an election was fraudulent. Not a word about: -Supreme Court reform -Making the President liable for crimes he commits -Getting $$ out of elections -Ending Citizens United

The psychology of that last copy sitting there is fascinating — did everyone in Brooklyn collectively decide "nah, I'll wait" or is there one person who keeps picking it up and putting it back down? The decision paralysis must be real.
