This is Jade. She just met the biggest dogs she's ever seen. But quickly learned they have the biggest hearts too. 13/10 for all (TT: catimtins.pscal)

My 15# chiweenie loves those giant dogs with big hearts. They love her right back. A bit nerve wracking for me, her human but no one gets stepped on. Amazing nature.

You reckon horses take so kindly to dogs and cats because they understand that they belong to "the human" also, or some similar dynamic, or are horses just intuitively friendly to other animals by and large (other than like, snakes) also?

Depends on their experiences with them. IMO horses don't generally give a shit about dogs unless they have negative experiences. My horses were always harmless and curious about our dogs until my current dog, who barks and snaps at them. Now they dislike dogs, because of him.

Another PSA: the stories accompanying WRD's photos/images *usually* are just that, stories (exception being the serious ones). They use silly humor and anthropomorphism to emphasize the cuteness. This one just happens to sound more plausible...if you ignore that equines are referred to as canines.

Look at the responses. Many people believe this thread shows insight into behavior. It wouldn’t be hard to weave actual behavioral insight into cute stories rather than simply vying for engagement. Some “cute” stories could be dangerous if mimicked. I’m not a fan of needless ignorance.

Mankind owes our very survival to these devoted species. Dogs helped us hunt and fight, horses did the heavy work we weren't strong enough to do, and enabled us to travel, be it to better hunting grounds or more fertile farmlands. We owe them our existence 🐕🫏🥰
