1) Never open the door to a cop unless they have a warrant. 2) Always inform them that you are armed and that if they enter your home without a warrant you will defend yourself 3) inform them if they shoot the dog you will be shooting back. It's weird how cops behave themselves when you do that.

It's not that cops love shooting dogs, they love being able to inflict as much pain and suffering as possible, especially on brown and Black people, while getting a big paycheck and seeing no consequences. It's a power trip for awful people. Also, they love shooting dogs.

I've even seen videos of cops hunting down escaped dogs when they were on a call and at a house, just to shoot the dog dead. Why not call animal control? Why hunt down a dog that has escaped instead of letting it return peacefully? The dogs in question wasn't being aggressive at all. I hate this!

It is so important that you shared Jameson's story & the data of just how many are shot. Jameson's slaughter, for it can not be called be any other name, hit all who are friends to paws & humans alike. My gut wrench at hearing the friend of this beloved dog cry out in pain from her very soul.🐾💔🐾

Ooof - that last one hit hard. Poor Jamison and his family. 💔 Does the fact that dogs are shot more often in black neighborhoods mean that race-based fear transferred to pets? Ignorant and shameful. We truly don’t deserve dogs.

We have laws too but cops are almost entirely immune to consequences for breaking them. If anyone of you outside the US see this, if your government tries to give your police "qualified immunity" fight it like hell. Vote out anyone who even suggests it. Let the US be an example of what not to do.

I played the first one in the car when on vacation with my parents and their reaction was “What the heck was that sound? I thought a cat got stuck in the engine!”

RIP Jameson and kindest thoughts to his family. That police kill on average 15-20 dogs a day in the US is a shocker. Sorry to our US friends, but yet another reason to never set foot in the US again (usually it's Trump related). 💕🐾

I didn’t know, I didn’t know you were gonna have Jamison as number one!!! - oh how I ache for the family and dog. Those stats are so important, people need to hear em. I love you. I’m in genuine tears.

Our police academies teach reactive policies and, fail to emphasize teach dogs who are friendly & curious versus aggressive. Thus much change. That officer MUST be held accountable

That's so sad. Jameson didn't deserve to be killed. Some police officers are killers looking for an excuse to shoot someone. I hope that policeman was fired and indicted for animal abuse.

If a cop can't handle a dog without resorting to shooting it first, they shouldn't be cops. Period. There are so many other ways, even if the dog is aggressive and Jameson wasn't. So sad to hear this and if Jameson's human is reading along: He was the bestest of boys and I'm so sorry for your loss!

Jesus NEVER call the cops unless you want people dead! Cops don’t save lives in America, they escalate and can’t wait to kill. God I hate how we live in fear of our city guards here. Feels medieval. Whoever neighbor called them, I hope the building shames them into the streets.

My heart ruptured for Jamison's owner. I cannot imagine her grief & shock. I know many dogs react badly to the noise & stress during police interactions, but to be that hateful to a curious, friendly dog, is unforgivable. I hope that cop suffers nightly terrors for the rest of his life.

Jesus Christ, what a shock at the end of this. What a dreadful end Jameson faced. I dinnae usually comment on US gun laws and practices, basically because the stupidity of them is beyond my ken that it's an accepted way of living. But ffs, this lethal overreaction was utterly beyond the pale.

Don’t drive thru Utah. They are the worse about killing dogs. My thing is, if you are scared a dog might bite, you don’t need to be police. People work with animals all day risking a possible bite. Most are not aggressive, but fearful. There is a big difference in their approach and bite. Educate.

I have CC permit - 'old' in a stand your ground state and the headline would be very different if it were my dog- curious if gun already drawn or honcho quick draw when you see the video.Think it'd time to reconsider LE exemptions

RIP Jamison may your soul lead the cheer squad at the Rainbow Bridge until you are reunited with your loved ones and your murderers receive their eternal blazing hot karma of torture for harming you. #RIPJamison

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Maybe we could write letters to our mayors, city council or Board of Supervisors to inquire and condemn dogs shootings. Canicide by Cop: A geographical analysis of canine killings by police in Los Angeles - ScienceDirect share.google/TXUu9XAQjIoa...

Seriously what kind of absolute degenerate is thinking Jameson is a threat, whether he's in the house or not? I could understand if a big doberman or the like is running loose. Jesus America you don't need guns and neither do your police

I have giant breed dogs # know how scared people can be of larger dogs. The idea of having police come to my home terrifies me me, even though Newfies are the most gentle creatures their size is intimidating. My heart goes out to Jameson's family. What a horrible thing to happen to this family.

For the first time ever I can't face watching the No 1 dog. I'll be in floods of tears again. How dare those bastards shoot him. When are you people in the US going to do something about your gun culture? Untrained cops with guns and guns for sale in supermarkets that any idiot can buy. Madness 🤬

Thank you. Their fixation on owning guns just depresses me. So many wrongful shootings, many by trigger happy cops. You'd think with the number of school shootings as well they'd do more than just "thoughts and prayers" and doing shooter drills with tiny kids. No one should have to live like that.

Exactly. It's blindingly obvious that allowing anyone to own guns is a recipe for disaster, and when the default for cops seems to be to shoot anyone or anything that isn't immediately complying, there's something seriously wrong. The usual "But the second amendment" has zero validity as an answer.

What is wrong with the police in America? Good God, they seem to attract racist and violent murdering types who have the security of a badge to get away with what they do. I’d be so fucking full of rage if that was my dog, never mind your RIPs, surely that’s a scandalous act that needs investigated?

I would want to kill the shooter if this happened to me. I would read his name (cuz it’s always a man huh?) and act calm and hunt him down. I wouldn’t be able to look at myself in the mirror if I didn’t. I wish everyone felt this same way, but most Americans are timid and scared.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for emphasizing the number of dogs killed by law enforcement … and those are just the ones we know about. There are many more that we never hear of, and most are friendly family pets. Even if you put your dog in a room as instructed, cops will open that door and shoot the dog👇🏽

I was avoiding reading anything about the number one dog. I didn’t even know his name. And now I’m sobbing uncontrollably. Thanks for ruining my day. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
