It’s not yet known whether Waymo vehicles were deliberately targeted. This year the LAPD revealed it had obtained footage from a Waymo driverless car as part of an investigation, indicating that they are being used as potential sources of surveillance footage. Waymo has been contacted for comment.

This is a deliberate effort to provoke chaos to justify their escalating rhetoric & validate their narrative. The language around immigrants has steadily intensified, from "illegals," "rapists," & "animals" to "invasion," "cartel members," "terrorists," & "national security/emergency risks

There is a matter of them being used to spy, but there is also an issue not being touched. Technology that replaces human labor is pushing more people into hopeless poverty. The billionaires want to cut 90% of the population out and use technology for all their needs. They plan to leave us nothing.

Nobody gives a fuck about the Waymo cars, there's kids being ganked by Nazis in masks and the wholesale destruction of our economy, people and way of life. If peaceful people are gonna be disappeared and killed anyway, then we might as well burn the whole goddamn country down.

Again, nobody cares about the cars. I was talking about the women and children, the queers and people of color. The people who's lives were destroyed BEFORE the protest.

These were just doing their usual drive around is all. They automatically stop when something is in front of them making them easy targets for vandals. Any driver knows you can cut in front of a Waymo and it will always let you go

Waymo is wholly owned by Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google. It is not an independent, publicly traded entity, and all of its shares are held privately under Alphabet’s corporate structure. This means all funding, strategic direction, and executive oversight come from Alphabet. NARC!

Beware of any incident that interferes with a peaceful protest. Rittenhouse and the like come to mind. There are always outside influencers whose job it is to incite violence for their cause. Be alert to people trying to escalate and create violent scenarios and have a Peaceful Profound June 14.

I find it annoying how focused everyone becomes on property destruction but ignores the "nonlethal" harm being done to HUMAN BEINGS. Light all the cars on fire. What I care about are the people. And right now, they are being attacked by their own military and officers they pay.

It shows what the people speaking actually value when they mourn a burnt Waymo or Cybertruck but ignore the people getting shot up, gassed and trampled in the streets. Things are just things, they can be fixed or replaced. People can't so easily. Its disgusting.

Makes sense since MAGA is the definition of hypocrisy. Those shitsmearers say one thing while doing the opposite of it all the time. Then tell us that what we just seen and heard wasn't real or they haven't "heard about it" so no comment,if you're Mike Johnson 🙄

People in LA need to be able to protest without worrying about rogue AI/remote hacker driven cars plowing through them or LAPD/ICE/FBI using the cameras as remote surveillance. If Waymo is worried about their cars getting ganked, they should pull them from the streets.

I'm having a hard time having a problem with this. These things take jobs away from people at best, and are a serious danger to drivers and pedestrians at worst. Not sad to see some of them off the road.

Also, if you were already going to torch a car, ordering a Waymo means that there's almost certainly no one in it, the vehicle doesn't belong to an individual human person, and it's definitely insured.

the fight to end and abolish all modern AI is at the intersection of everyone's basic rights. from the invasive and totalitarian surveillance, to the theft of both labor & private data, to the destruction of human knowledge, to the militarized use of it, to the environmental and public health harm.

Crazy how many Americans are more disturbed by footage of a burning Waymo car than they are by footage of unarmed protesters being brutalized by police and trampled by equestrian unit. Not to mention that Australian reporter shot in the back on live TV.

I firmly question how many of my countrypeople are being shown the clips of the Aussie shooting or the tramplings, at least with those events' proper and nightmarish context. Media for the Average Jo is so in the pocket of the rich that it's no surprise they're making Waymo a technomartyr.

When I posted the full clip of the Australian journalist on my Facebook page an acquaintance's response basically boiled down to "she's just there for the clicks, and what about those Waymo cars?" So the "Google's property is more important than human beings" mindset runs deep.

Ugh I feel like there's an unsettling overlap in the public perception between proper journalists and "influencers" just doing shit for clicks. Both do sustain off the attention economy, but typically journalists have standards? If it was about just the clicks, we'd all be Logan Paul or Joe Rogan.

News said crowd was burning cars….driverless waymo…omg the anarchy! They’re burning driverless cars! Forget not calling for help for the embattled police on Jan 6 for three hours. Guess storming the capitol committing a real insurrection is meh. Thank kraznov for saving LA? what a joke LA is yuge!

“waymo, the only self driving ied” “you don’t have to get your virgins yet with waymo, just call a car, fill it up, we’ll notify you when it’s at its destination” “waymo, we come with 100kw of toxic smoke built into the floor pan” “waymo, honestly, we don’t care as long as we make money”

We didn’t choose where they’d start Anyone care to mention th 2nd Amendment and rising up against tyranny? Every single one of our protesters has more guts than the police force in Uvalde (those were trained and armed w public money) Protestors aren’t migrants, Now we’re not letting ICE take anymore

Alternatively (and this would be a very bad idea for anyone not interested in going to prison), what if people called for a pickup and set them on fire when they arrived? Waymo should be able to figure that out pretty easily though.
