Survive for what exactly? A nuclear wasteland, everything including food and water contaminated with radioactivity and we enter into a slow death as a planet? But sure, we can survive the initial blast. This is absolute insanity no matter how its looked at.

You might be able to live through the initial blast -- but not the results. Radiation poisoning is deadly, but it takes time to kill you. Societal collapse is pretty quick, and it WILL kill you. How many people have a well producing clean water? How many can raise enough food to feed themselves?

What I plan to do during a nuclear war: 1. Go to the nearest big city. 2. Try to be as close to downtown as possible. 3. Wait for missile to explode. 4. Be instantly incinerated and have to worry about radiation sickness, starvation, etc. There is no way to win a nuclear war.
