Are you repeating the framing of the copyright mafia that illegally copying is the same as robbery? Apart from that, they don’t copy the books, they train models with it. There is no actual copy of the book in the model. The model might remember parts of it, like a human, when they read a book.

Would you sell the rights to your book for $3000? So that AI can copy your style and creativity? They should just be barred from using the fruits of that stolen product just like anyone else caught stealing would be.

In one of those socialists who doesn’t believe in copyright law at all except to protect the integrity of the original work, but just consider the practical issues that excluding machine learning from fair use would cause. It would cripple the technology and likely cause companies to move offshore.

Some of my work is in the libgen dataset, but I won't get anything from this judgement, because the copyright is held by the copyright mafia: Springer, Elsevier etc. I'm happy for it to be in the dataset and happy for it to be used to train AI models.

That's it. That's the dumbest thing I have seen all day. Basically: If you don't want the completely unreasonable and not legal thing to happen, then don't engage with society. Next up: Avoid being murdered in public by staying home?
