“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.” -Dwight Eisenhower. April 16, 1953.

In my fiction writing I create the businesses I could never open in real life. There is a two story strip club with a plexiglass floor called The Glass Ceiling. There is also a female-owned gun shop called Creant & Demeanor’s. I am large. I contain volumes.

Ossoff is Jewish? I don’t really care, but I didn’t know that. I like who he is, and that matters MORE than where his people are from. Sure wish we had people like this in Louisiana.

I had an idea for a post-apocalyptic fiction in which everyone suffered in one massive incident, but then the survivors actually kinda have it better. So everyone is deeply wounded by their loss while also living their best life. They dwell on nostalgia because the present is pretty okay. 1/2

Death leans forward, pipe in hand, blowing bubbles across the ceiling — a strange, almost playful memento mori carved into plaster by Johann Georg Leinberger around 1729. It's part of the Holy Grave Chapel at Michaelsberg Abbey in Bamberg, Germany. ❤️

“The storm is up, and all is on the hazard.” I’m outside watching Isaias roll past east of us. I am very glad not to be in the way of this one. Lots of wind here and the bayous are up across the Northshore.

I am sick of watching the news and feeling like an adult watching kids on a playground. These people are in power because they are rich. They are in power to get richer. They are dumb, spoiled, and short-sighted. I would feel badly for them and the lives they live if I weren’t so mad at them.

A note to journalists: Your reader should not have to wade through nine paragraphs to find out the why. In this instance, I believe the reporter doesn’t actually know why teens are protesting, and the editor sucks.. apple.news/AGi73pCWCQR6...
