I realize the hypocrisy of saying this on this platform but I am honestly coming around on the idea that all social media is a social evil now. My use of this platform itself is based on an addiction and I'd love to get off it. We are openly inviting tech oligarchs to manipulate our beliefs.
Real saying the quiet part loud here
Saying it in comments is one thing, doing it is another. I really hope they do, but I just have zero faith when it comes to people choosing inconvenience over what is morally right. Disney is a cult, and one that is hard to break from once you are in it.
I'll just note that the Gizmodo comments section right now is filled with people who say they're cancelling Disney+/Hulu. One commenter said they had a Disney parks pass they weren't going to use just because they didn't want to spend money in the parks.

I didn't say that my killing a man in cold blood was a hoax. Your calling it 'murder' is the hoax.
Q: You said the Epstein docs are a hoax that Dems are perpetrating against Trump. You said he didn't sign that check or card. What's the theory since these docs came from Epstein estate? LEAVITT: I did not say the documents are a hoax. I said the entire narrative surrounding Epstein right now is

Maybe it is just an absence of brand socials on Bluesky but I love love love the fact that I haven't seen a single brand reference to this at all today. Living without X, FB, and Insta sure has its bonuses.
Companies from Pillsbury to Invisalign to Olipop are cheering β and trying to cash in on β the couple's engagement. Experts spoke to NPR about how brands can strike a better balance.
Plenty of us care a lot. Just rewatched Do the Right Thing. Spike is the #GOAT and I'll be there Day One for this.
Workers around the country were worried at the precedent set by the over use of Sec.107 by the federal government, but a new precedent has been set as well: ignoring it works. But ignoring it only works under the umbrella of the collective whole.
Using Sec 107 after only hours of striking felt evil. This is the right move. Striking is the only worker-led initiative to fight for change in the workplace. Stripping workers of that right gives employers all the power. Back to work legislation at least has to go through the rigor of parliament.
"Workers have one tool at their disposal, which is the power to withdraw their labour...If you undermine that power, that tilts the playing field, and makes it much harder to reach an agreement at the bargaining table because it removes the incentive of the employer to actually come to the table."
