Possibly a cat. Often snarky, but striving for good vibes, even when I'm grumpy. Floridian My hot take: betraying our allies is a bad move. When good people come together, no voice is too small, and no problem is too large. Don't forget to 💙 each other.

Good morning, Bluesky. Today is another writing day. I'm on draft two of my latest novel, and I feel the ending approaching. Disassociating from current events to focus on creativity has done wonders for my mental health. Have a lovely day!

Good morning, Bluesky. Good vibes and a pleasant day to you all. Never forget: there is more good in the world than evil. But you'll rarely hear about that in the news. Find your joy and embrace it. "Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions." -Dalai Lama

Happy Earth Day! And happy release day for fans of Andor! I'm striving to spend less time on news and politics and more time writing and reading. I always feel so much better putting my head to my pillow after a day of creative progress. Find your happy place, and dig in deep 😊

Hegseth is dead man walking. Musk's influence is dropping faster than Tesla's stock price. But things won't get better even when these disasterous men are gone. Trump is an anchor pulling America's greatness to dangerous, dark depths. We can not slow down. Resistance is more important than ever.

Welcome to MAGA, where children are savaged by eradicated, deadly diseases as a choice preferable to them being on the spectrum despite zero correlation between the two.

Imagine seeing this image four years ago. You would've wondered what tragedy befell our country where a scene like this could possibly happen.

Good morning, Bluesky! The news is stressful, and social media can be great to blow off steam. It can also exacerbate anxiety sometimes. Don't neglect yourself. Engage in hobbies, go for a walk, or send a message to an old friend. Self-love is crucial to a balanced life. Great vibes to you all

(1) Wheel s3e7 was fun in many ways. The battle as written would require LotR film level budget, so it was shallow in that way, but still told the story. Some choices, I don’t know. Emotional, yet hard to swallow for a reader. But I accept a new turning of the wheel concept. #wotskies

(3) Faile is perfect. Love her in every way. Every woman in this episode absolutely killed it. So good. Aram is good. Small change, but it works. His haunted looks were great. Valda... yep. I liked it. Padan Fain is a great villain. All I'll say there. Loved the hammer. Finale, here we come.

(4) Last note: for the love of all that is good, please renew this series. We are in the meat of the story and it just keeps getting better from here. Amazon needs a 90 minute cut of S1 to get people caught up. Too many are turned off by the covid-wounded world building that is already a bit slow.

(2) I'm not a book purist. It's a different lense, and an exact retelling would never happen on screen. That's what the books are for. I love the adaptation. I don’t want another fakeout, as much as I mourn. It was a choice he made, and it was heroic. The trollocs looked great, loved how bestial.

Not that I'm suggesting malfeasance, of course not. But this is a friendly, unrelated reminder that Opera browser is free to install and has a free, simple VPN included.

Another day, another online government snitch form that you know damn well what to do with. enddei.ed.gov

This is disturbing but rings true because there can never be good news. The lack of specifics give them lots of room to wiggle and delay. They don't want him free to talk. Anyone have a good legal counter argument to the points raised here by Danny Cevallos? www.mediaite.com/tv/msnbc-ana...

mediaite.comMSNBC Analyst Deflates Joe Scarborough’s Glee Over Supreme Court Order Returning Mistakenly Deported Migrant: ‘A Win for Trump’Scarborough’s optimism at the Supreme Court’s unanimous order for return of a mistakenly deported man to El Salvador was quickly deflated by Danny Cevallo.

Trump and MAGA will tout this genius move, but make no mistake: Trump folded. He was facing total economic meltdown. The Western world will buy in because an American collapse harkens Chinese socialist dominance, which is bad business for capitalist elite. www.mediaite.com/news/foxs-ga...

mediaite.comFox’s Gasparino Argues Trump Didn’t ‘Outsmart’ the World and Tariff Drop Was ‘Forced’ by Bond Selloff: ‘Those Markets Were Imploding Last Night’Fox's Charles Gasparino made the case that President Donald Trump's tariff pause was largely motivated by alarming activity in the bond market.

Trump punts on Liberation Day and removes the loaded gun from the economy's temple. MAGA/GOP cheers his genius, reversing course on days of cheering those same tariffs as also genius. Victory lap ensues. I'm tired.

Trump suggested a 90-day tariff pause on many countries, sending markets into the stratosphere. He is forced to punt on "Liberation Day," but a victory lap will naturally ensue. He doubled down on China, increasing duties to 125%, citing "lack of respect." And so continues our economic whiplash.

Mania in the market. 2300 difference between high and low on the DOW, ending on a 4th day of heavy losses for all indexes. This after starting the day big in the green. This level of volatility is astounding. It seems the only thing preventing free fall are rumors and hopes.

Market volatility continues as Trump hints at willingness to consider trade deals. Politically, this will be interesting. If Trump scores deals with major trading partners, markets will soar. One false tweet sent indexes (momentarily) to the moon. After all, money made is loss forgiven.

Pump and dump on a whole new level.

The New York Times@nytimes.com

A false report that President Trump was considering a pause on his expansive tariffs spread on social media and was amplified by CNBC and Reuters, leading to sways in the market. Stocks fell back down when the White House responded saying that the report was “FAKE NEWS.”

Most Americans have a Trump-voting loved one somewhere in their lives. Many of those are probably concerned right now, too. Resist the urge to taunt and belittle. Don't call them dumb. Many of those voters believed a lie. A lie that said this man cared about them. Midterms will be here soon.

Midterms matter. A blue house and senate can reign in the madness. We know the GOP won't. The best way to make sure this type of tyranny never returns is to help Americans see how wrong it is. How pervasive right-wing media is. Some are beyond hope or redemption. But many are not.

Americans aren't ready to learn just how expensive shoes and clothing can be. Or electronics. Or almost everything else we import from Asia. I've got kids. They go through clothes and shoes like crazy and it's already expensive to keep up with. I know I'm not alone in that.

Tiny quibble: job numbers from March are typically not impacted by April policy announcements. Also, while job growth was higher than expected, the unemployment rate also climbed in March. Just a small detail.

"It's just the beginning" was way more ominous than Rep Van Drew may have meant it.

"But dividing the U.S.’s 2024 goods-trade deficit with China, of some $295 billion, by the amount the U.S. imported from China results in the 67% tariff value presented by the White House." Only the best people. 👌

The White House’s new tariffs were pegged to amounts it said other countries impose on the U.S. In many cases, those amounts appear to match a basic formula.

Senator Booker got it started. Who is next? We don't need every senator up there for 25 hours. But filibusters need to become the norm. Unanimous consent needs to be denied. Frustrate the process. Delay. Gum up the works.

Tim Dickinson@timdickinson.bsky.social

Cory Booker is mostly putting a lie to the notion there was nothing more that Democratic lawmakers could do.

Tuberville might be sort of dumb. No, scratch that. Tuberville knows how dumb his supporters are.

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

Tuberville: “We built China - the American taxpayers. We built the Middle East. We built Europe. So now it’s time they help us build back our country after we’ve helped them so much, and that happens to be with tariffs.”

We've fought long and hard to win this seat, and we have the numbers to prove it! There's still time to phonebank and canvass in the final 24 hours. Please, help us out at the Mobilize link in my bio. Together, we can take back this seat for hardworking Floridians!

Good for Booker for doing something, but without a call for greater action, this will unfortunately fall flat as performative bullshit. On the other hand, if the Democrstic chamber used their full and united powers to disrupt, delay, and frustrate, change can begin.

Better late than never. The minority has tools to disrupt business and call attention to the executive overreach. We need more Democratic senators to follow suit.

Cory Booker has taken the Senate floor and plans to filibuster as long as he’s physically able to protest the complete disregard for the rule of law by Trump and Musk. Watch here: www.c-span.org/event/us-sen...
