Just think for a second, about ALL these people. They become extraordinarily fixated on some single topic and focus entirely on that... that's not what you want in ANY leader. Ie not even a supervisor in an office. You need someone who can learn and adapt and change to meet the challenges.

I was in a discord tonight listening to some Trumpers. Right wingers are cheering Kennedy on about "whats in food". They completely ignore his views on vaccination, measels, and Bird Flu. They cherry pick the parts useful in the view they want. Kennedy is horrific. These people are gone.

My husband & I were young when we conceived our autistic daughter. I then had a late diagnosis of autism. Maybe autistic people are having autistic kids also? People marry more often from outside their "village" now, so maybe more autistic folks are finding each other & reinforcing genetics?

May I also add that there is an excellent book called Neuro Tribes. It's a very long read.. and heart breaking in some areas. But gives a an eye opening history of autism here and abroad. What RFK Jr. Is saying .. sounds like very reminiscent of nazi rhetoric towards neurodivergents.

I can't help but sympathize with parents of autistic children, who will now be subjected to lectures from newly minted "experts" about what causes autism. RFK Jr. is doing this community a disservice by promoting this faux science. They deserve better from an HHS sec.

Indeed, and thank you for making that point. I was thinking of a friend of mine who has a son who is on the spectrum. When his son was young (toddler age), my friend was accosted by anti-vaxxers on a few occasions. They felt it was appropriate to make assumptions and lecture him on parenting.

Very true, but sadly most don't care for them and see their parents as "victims" and the only ones that matter. I'm autistic myself and am not happy with RFK's statements. Ableism has given me PTSD and frequent paranoia, and I am not hyped for the shit I was told to be repeated by the gov. It sucks

But he LOVES heroin. When I was using IV meth (in the 80's when meth made you skinny and toothless) I didn't want to use heroin or cocaine, just the meth. I didn't even smoke weed back then. There are those that bounce around but most people have a drug of choice in their addiction.

Of course the increase in autism diagnosis couldn't possibly be down to a) greater awareness, b) over diagnosis, c) a combination of a and b, environmental factors (pollution). Must of course be vaccinations, despite that having been debunked. They put narrative before evidence.
