Good News, Everyone! Starting Oct 27, reserve your first THREE charactersโ€™ names for WoW: Forever! The Beta is also extending to 10 AM PDT on Oct 23 ๐Ÿšจ Full details: blizz.ly/4zJbTyz

Was my time no-life'ing World of Warcraft a low point for me? Yes. Am I excited to return? Absolutely. Will I drag @doomquasar.bsky.social down with me, destroying both of our lives and careers? No doubt.

Look, as an art kid who toils in the GitHub slop mines thanks to capital doing a switcheroo on my career, I will find any opportunity to experience Longing. Whatever. Lock me up.

because it is relevant to my work, I have tried very hard to educate myself on how AI works, be fair and measured in how I evaluate it, and regularly test new tools to confirm or debunk my priors and tbh AI haters are just nailing it with less work like 99% of the time. keep at it folks

Still having so many fans despite not shipping a good game since 2014 really speaks to how badly EA fumbled this acquisition. Dire, dude.

Between consolidation wrecking established companies and trivial AI plagiarism making ethical indie development so difficult.. I donโ€™t know. Itโ€™s just such a shame how everything is now.

I truly don't understand peoples' emotional attachment to this platform. It's a total fallacy that people "need" to be on it or that it can be made whole, relevant, and interesting again. That era is dead.

Mike Masnick@masnick.com

Seems relevant to that flood of journalists who in the last few weeks announced publicly that it was okay to return to X, that the platform had gotten better, and the worst aspects of it had been minimized. This is what you have endorsed.

Itโ€™s a shame this man routinely makes my life miserable on the court because heโ€™s so refreshingly thoughtful off of it. Itโ€™s been sad seeing LeBron and Giannis shilling this junk all summer.

These are not products of an effective design process. Instead of starting with a purpose and finding the best way to satisfy it they are starting with a behemoth existing material and desperately trying to find ways to make it useful. This is anti-design.

This absolutely sucked during my last apartment search. Itโ€™s not only staging furniture anymore, people are doing extreme digital home makeovers on total dumps and itโ€™s EVERYWHERE.

New Yorkers should know whether the apartment theyโ€™re looking at is real. Thatโ€™s why weโ€™re working to require apartment listings to clearly disclose when images and videos have been generated by AI. Finding a home in New York is hard enough without artificially generating more problems.

I've been trying open source Google Maps alternatives for the last few weeks and it's a shame nothing else compares โ€“ at least for me in the city. CoMaps is close, but it's always routing me to the wrong borough. Maybe it's worth the friction at this point though.
