Can Bluesky's video bitrate/framerate hold up when challenged with speeds attained using Wavia: Funnel Dive's "particle accelerator" exploit? My guess is no; but hang around to hear Myrone shred your socks off anyway:

I wanted to play more single player games (Metroid in particular) throughout the month of October, but I had to tie up one loose end from September the other night.

Finished it in a single sitting. Again, not my best work. Fusion kicks ass; even though I don't enjoy the movement mechanics as much as Zero Mission or Super, it still feels great to play. Samus feels more deliberate in this one; somewhat clunkier. The boss fights rule. So damn good.
I've been neglecting the alt text feature; still not super used to it. For those that might be interested, the photos are described in the order of their appearance up until this point in the next post.

Clear time; 3:01. A lot less familiar with Super Metroid than other Metroid games, but still pretty much the best game ever made. So damn good. Green Brinstar continues to be the best gaming "just found my footing and gaining confidence" zone tune of all time. Shake your ass and kick some too
BREAKING: Electronic Arts is cutting 400 jobs and shutting down BioWare, the legendary development studio behind Dragon Age and Mass Effect. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
For the record, while I don't mention it much, the Mass Effect series was hugely influential to me. I picked up Mass Effect 1 at Gamestop the year after it released used for a steal not really knowing what I was getting into. I fell in love and played the hell out of the series. This sucks. Big time

Zero Mission is still just one of the best games ever made. I can't believe how much variety in the level design there is. The bosses are great, and the level design is so friendly to being broken and the intended path still guides you quite nicely. So kickass.
Super Metroid next.
Anybody ever consider remaking their videogame from the ground up because the company that made the engine you used lost every single bit of sauce that it used to have and is now a complete joke of a loser?
I can't be the only one.

I finished up OoT (the redux romhack) on Analogue 3D. Killer way to experience the game mostly as the original was; dare I say the best way to play the game mostly as the original was? It's still so good; eager to see the differences in the remake.
I then started another game just earlier tonight:
Promptly finished it in a single sitting and only had to take a break maybe once or twice? I'm super rusty, clearly. A pretty awful ending result, but I haven't played it since probably before Metroid Dread came out?
Aero GPX pilots! @toufool.bsky.social is speedrunning the All Grand Prix category around 12am ET for GDQ's Hotfix Express Lane event stream. I'll be sitting in on commentary as well! Let's pack the stream later tonight and show some support for him! 🤘

Absolutely insane. I don't think that I'll use any of the included textures/art straight out of the box, but this is quite possibly one of the best learning resources any budding environment or texture artist could potentially look at. Makkon's work is some of the most gorgeous out there!
I'm immensely proud to announce that my texture library that's been in the making for nearly a decade is now available on my itchio store for indie devs to purchase commercial licenses.

I might be extremely late to the party on this one; but have you ever thought about the potentially hilarious implications behind the adult tunics in Ocarina of Time having a tag?
Such a cheeky and fun detail.
INTRODUCING:
PROJECT PHANTOM LIMB
SCOUR THE NAMELESS ISLE AND ITS EVIL FORTRESS
BATTLE WICKED SOULS AND SEVER THEIR BODIES
RESIST DEMONIC POSSESSION
(Releasing later this year)
There's a particular videogame franchise that's very important to me; anybody who has a similar love for it needs to keep their eyes peeled during the first Gateway Galaxy scene in the Mario Galaxy Movie 🤘
Big mixed feelings on the movie, just like the first. Plot is basically non-existent, but the fan service was fun. The "jingling keys" commentary is unfortunately very on-the-money. The pacing felt absolutely breakneck, with not a single conversation lasting more than 7-8 exchanges. Shallow.
Here's a look at how the mattress physics look using my debug view. A mattress is essentially a 3x5 grid of rigid bodies connected with joints to flex, and then stacked on another grid kinda like 2 pieces of bread, with springs between them for compression
I'm not sure how visible these are without digging, so if you're looking for indies to follow and support, check below 🙌🏻

"Aeros Prime: Parallel Slipstream" is the third track of the new Grand Prix that I just released earlier today! It's the dedicated slipstream track of the game, and it's the one track I can confidently say is 99% Aero GPX DNA if you play it right. Very happy with it!

New track just dropped into Aero GPX! I wanted to make a sequel to a previous track in the lineup, and it just so happens that I could make the name kinda funny while I was at it.
Introducing "Two Dimensions 2!" You can play it for 15% off for a limited time on Steam!

Aero GPX is participating in Steam's Racing Games festival at a 15% off discount! That's $16.99 for 21 tracks (and counting), one of which I just released today! "Thuurmos: Ardent Narrows" is a slim line dangerously good time!

Can't see a single thing in the above pixel soup, unfortunately. You could see a lot better if you played the game on a variety of computer hardware, or even a Steam Deck which Aero GPX is verified for!

visa and mastercard deciding what games are allowed to be sold is an apocalyptic level threat to the games industry. phone calls are the highest impact way to help.
