The Constitution is not self-enforcing.
The only thing holding our Republic together are our norms.
And the only thing that enforces those norms is The People.
No one is coming to save us.
It's entirely up to us.
People are using GoFundMe for groceries.
GoFundMe has 250k pages for medical bills and 40k for tuition.
Americans are fundraising for basic necessities, while the top 1% increased their wealth to $52 trillion.
This is what a rigged system designed by the wealthy looks like.
“Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.”

Very interesting disclosure by Sen. Ron Wyden (OR):
* Four big banks apparently flagged to the Treasury Department $1.5 billion in potentially suspicious money transfers involving Epstein
* Allegedly, these consisted of more than 4,725 wire transfers
But there's no "Epstein List."
Riiiiiiiight.
NEWS --> Sen Ron Wyden writes to Pam Bondi, urging DOJ to probe $1.5 billion in Epstein financial transactions that banks flagged for Treasury Dept. He lays out roadmap for DOJ to examine money flow related to sex trafficking. Challenges Bondi in new way.

Dozens of computers, 26 storage drives, over 70 CDs and multiple videos were seized in the Epstein case
If nothing in that material implicated Trump it would've been released already
Instead, they're hoping Ghislaine Maxwell bails him out-for a sweetheart deal, of course
Nobody is going to buy it
"The Trump admin is in a trap of its own making. After promising transparency w/ respect to Epstein, they claimed nothing could be released without compromising victims. Now they say Trump’s appearance in the records is incidental, contradicting the claim it’s all unreleasable child abuse material."
That Tr*mp took time to go to do a PR hit at the new concentration camp in Florida but didn’t pay respects to Melissa Hortman and her family after she and her husband were shot and murdered by one of his supporters is shameful. And not remotely surprising.
Law360 is requiring all stories pass through an AI "bias indicator" before publication.
The new policy came weeks after an executive from its parent company, LexisNexis, accused the newsroom of liberal bias in its Trump admin coverage. My latest for @niemanlab.orgwww.niemanlab.org/2025/07/law3...
Do they really think they can scare us with the word “socialist” when they are literally sending out men in masks with no warrants and no badges to disappear people off American streets?
I know what I’m scared of, and it’s not a socialist.
Not to rain on everyone’s ceasefire-not-ceasefire parade, but that wrecking ball of a big dumb bill is still working its way through the Senate and still launching an assault on women, wages, benefits, and the entire working class
“This isn’t what I voted for.”
Yes it is. This is exactly what you voted for. Go rewatch the rallies you clapped at and maybe listen a little closer this time.
I did an event in DC & there was a party for donors etc after. Was talking to 2 ppl & I said "Things are so bad." They said "No this is how it is. Things swing one way, then another. It's normal."
That's when I realized why Dems are toothless. They have no idea what this is. Frogs boiling in water.
Genetic data being sold to the highest bidder sounds like something out of a dystopian movie - but it's what's going on right now. Today we held a hearing on the privacy and national security implications of the 23andMe bankruptcy and our bipartisan bill to protect consumers.
Met an active duty member of the military yesterday who filed conscientious objector paperwork in response to deployment of military on U.S. soil.
Was told multiple Army have filed, unknown quantities in other branches.
The disparity btwn what’s actually happening in Los Angeles and the way it’s being mischaracterized is one of the biggest stress tests of modern media in recent memory. Botted socials, AI, old clips, declining literacy—it’s like seeing a broken emergency response system hit by a storm.
I spent so many years covering propaganda anticipating this exact moment and so many of my peers bought the paid-for contrarian line that even covering disinformation was somehow, itself, censorship.
Now we're at the event horizon. Celebration is protest is riot is justification for a police state.
This took a while to get done, but I've chronicled my day among the protesters in Los Angeles, and the idea that this is anything but a celebration of cultural heritage and a firm, nonviolent demand to protect family, friends and neighbors is totally ridiculous.

Exactly. People go around driving cars and riding in airplanes because they trust the experts who made them. Not everyone can be an expert on everything. The demonizing of expertise is dangerous.
It's often presented as a kind of conformity or groupthink to "trust the experts," but you do in fact need to do this to have a functioning society!
What is the alternative? Every person researches every single issue of public concern themselves?
Insane scenes in Downtown Los Angeles as the cops open fire indiscriminately on people milling about. The cops shattered a business’s windows while firing on a live-streaming journalist. Keep this in mind when people talk about the protesters causing property destruction. 🎥 : AXN News on YouTube
